On our stiff ascent of Mt. Kosciuscko (okay, we went up most of it by chair-lift!) we saw huge swathes of wildflowers, many of them unique to the area. Some incredibly small, others, especially the asters normal size but in full-on bright mode. I'll try and identify some of them when I'm not relying on free cafe wifi to do the updates.
Possibly Brachyscome sp. |
Alpine Stockhausia - Stockhausia pulvinaris |
Silver Ewartia - Ewartia nubigena - Asteraceae |
That's a 2 dollar coin - a bit smaller than £1 |
Shiny Leafed Billy Buttons - Craspedia lamicola |
Alpine Sunray - Leucochrysum albicans |
Yes, it's a big beetle, there were dozens up there. |
Though you can't tell from the photo, these flowers were under water |
